Meh.. Week 7 Pick'em Again Belated

First I must apologize.. it's dead week here in Bloomington and I have just a mountain of work to overcome.. and with so much going on I have very little time to get to the blog.. but you guys deserve better, and I'm going to be better (especially as far as pick'em goes).. plus the good news is that Chase is going to start making predictions in the comments.. we welcome anyone to weigh in on how they feel about the games.. no more gilding the lily.. lets get to Week 7

THURSDAY: Thankfully the NFL decided to play a game today because everything else going on in the sports world is too boring to stay awake long enough to investigate the potential winner.. so we will go into the blockbuster playoff implication match-up that is the.. oh.. nevermind.. it's New Orleans at Chicago as a disappointing offense takes on a defense in the same situation.. both teams haven't made a serious statement as the best team in their conference (or division) but it should still be a fun one to watch.. I will say the Bears put up a W in chi town as they know how to play in the shitty conditions they will undoubtedly face.

FRIDAY: Today isn't much better.. in fact it's worse.. no real game in college to speak of and we aren't bowling yet.. what a depressing week.. oh well looks like we might have a good one up in mo-town in what used to be a good rivalry between the Indiana Pacers and the Detroit Pistons.. Now Detroit is still a good team but Indiana has shown potential to be an incredible team when they put everything together.. now don't get me wrong I love me some Pacers but I think Detroit wins this one in the Palace.

SATURDAY: Finally we see some top 25 action in college hoops and the best game on the docket looks to be high flying athletic NCAA runner up last year No. 15 Memphis taking it to the Hoyas at No. 19 Georgetown.. call me old fashion but I still think home court advantage and a stronger conference matters enough to give the Hoyas a win and send the tigers back home to dominate the CUSA again. (la dee da)

SUNDAY: A pretty weak week in the NFL but there are a few sweet match-ups like the G-men at Dallas, and my game of the week as Pittsburgh takes their No. 1 ranked defense into Baltimore to face the No. 3 ranked defense in the league.. obviously this won't be a high scoring affair but whatever team gets the ground game going will get the win.. and I think Pittsburgh has what it takes to win the battle up front and grind out the yards to bring home a 17-10 win

MONDAY: Cleveland at Philadelphia.. this one is painful but the NFC North is a far and away better conference.. you gotta go with the Eagles in this one.. McNabb puts up serious fantasy points.. Derek Anderson continues to make my decision to drop him look like a smart move

Good luck Chase and Adam.. (not)

Thanks for the invite to be part of Pick'em...I am truly honored.

Thursday: You better not be hatin on my Bears Matt, I will fight you. But for picks, of course, I'm going with the Bears. Is this even a question? I dont care if they play the damn 72 dolphins, I'm still taking them. You know why? Because I don't. I'm still sayin the Vikes will stumble and we'll win the division.

Friday: I still think AI is not fully comfy in Detroit just yet, and that Detroit isn't either...One team did beat the lakers...I'm taking the pacers.

Saturday: Memphis has got no Rose...i'm glad he's with my team in the pros...Gtown it is.

Sunday: Balt's had trouble against GOOD teams, but...coming off a nice skins win, and at home, I think the birds will split the season series and beat Pitt 14-10.

Monday: Eagles will continue to fly.

I love it fellas...crunch time in the NFL and the most historical Heisman awards ceremony in our generation when my man, Tim Tebow, takes center stage for a back to back heisman. I love it.

Thurs. Sorry ladies but the Saints are gonna "brees" by the currupt chicago bears with a 13 point victory. Not even Blagojevich could buy this win for the Bears.

Fri. I hate Detroit with a passion but they find a way to get things done in the 4th. 7 pt win for the thugs of the failing city of Detroit.

Sat. I agree with Matt and Chase on this one. Tigers had a nice reality check when they got humbled last year however they aren't the same "move or we'll run you over" team they were a year ago. March might be a different story...as for December, the W goes to the Gtown.

Sun. Battle of the D's...whoever gets to the QB will be the winner of this game. Obviously if we had a pure one on one shoot out between big ben and joe flacco, the outcome would be a no brainer...however Pittsburgs O line better step it up or the ravens will let Benjamin know who's house they're playing in. I think the Ravens will rattle the hell out of the Steelers in the first half but ben and ward will do what they do best...steelers win (i hope for the colts sake) by 3 in the 4th.

Mon. There's no use in even talking about this one. No matter how inconsistant McNabb is, he's 1000 x's MORE consistant than Clevelands 3rd string will ever be..not to mention the ONLY chance Cleveland would have would be if the game was in the dog pound... at least you have baseball to look forward to this year Cleveland? maybe? no, nevermind...stick with Lebron and the Cavs..they'r cle's only chance at a world champ.
