The O.C. (A Quick Preview)

So far the "Change" of Barack Obama has been far from the left, and one step closer to the centrist right. Many liberals are left wondering if the President-elect will follow through on his word of hardcore progressive liberal views with some of the selections Barack Obama has made in this transitional honeymoon period.
Recently, Robert Gates, current Secretary of Defense was named Secretary of Defense for Barack Obama's new cabinet. Wait a minute...this isn't change? this is more of the same....interesting...
Robert Gates was appointed Secretary of Defense by George W. Bush in 2006 and served as Director of Central Intelligence from 1991 to 1993. Secretary Gates has done a fantastic job since he's been in office of overseeing the Department of Defense in keeping the United States a safe and stable country. Many liberals cant help but question the O.C. with this pick, but many will find it hard to establish substantial talking points on this "right" pick. Sounds like the foreign policy of George W. Bush wasn't so bad in Barack Obama's mind after all.
Senator Hillary Clinton was named as President-elect Obama's Secretary of State. No surprise here, after all, it is the least Barack Obama could do after giving Hillary the shaft on his VP pick. Was she the right choice for Secretary of State? Time will tell. Many question Hillary's foreign policy experience however current Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, had nothing but good things to say about the President-elects pick.
"I am very fond of her, I think she has worked very hard on behalf of the country, I think she really comported herself well in the (Democratic presidential) campaign."
Fox News reported that Rice spoke to Clinton before she left Washington on Sunday, her spokesman said. Rice briefed Clinton on the aftermath of a terrorist rampage in India that has forced Rice to rearrange what had been planned as a low-stress European valedictory for a diplomat much better liked in European capitals than her boss.
These picks draw plenty of question and concern for the left, and a little bit of reassurance and comfort for the right that they can hold their empty kool aid glasses high and know that..well, maybe G.W. wasn't such a moron after all (in some aspects of the political system of course). Unfortunately for all of you who voted for Mr. Obama STRICTLY because you were in favor of that flip flopping, mismanaged timeline that the President-elect wanted to put on the war, is now out the window. In your case, your vote, like many of Mr. Obama's promises, will go unheard.
During this transition period, if you take anything away from what is going on, learn to take everything that the mass media tells us is HORRIBLE about the United states with a grain of salt. Sure, our country is hurting, no one will deny that...HOWEVER, how many headlines show that the day after Thanksgiving sales were HIGHER (during a "recession") than they were last year...how many headlines show that the unemployment rate, while it's not good, is STILL lower than it was at times during Bill Clinton and definitely during Jimmy Carter's time in office. How many front page ad's do you see headlining our continued success in Iraq or currently declining gas prices?? NONE people...N-O-N-E....why? because the media is so in love with Barack Hussein Obama, that they don't want you to think ANYTHING positive about the current economy, and want to make you scared...scared to ever EVER vote for a Republican candidate again. Just watch...when January 20th hits, take note of the local news channels and the major newspaper headlines. Watch the headlines go from gloom and doom to nothing but optimism and success. It's amazing how our minds are finagled and SO EASILY controlled by those with "power" to do so.
As the President-elect continues to renigg on many of his empty-promises that were never at all realistically possible, I continue to encourage any and all of you to stay in touch, keep yourself informed, and for God's sake, please think independently. God Bless.
