No matter if you are a Liberal, Conservative, Independent, Hippie, Elephant or Jackass, this was a pretty damn good speech. It got even better when my brother told me that her TelePrompTer went out during her delivery. When someone can use notecards as well as she did in a time of humongous pressure and publicity, is magnificent just by itself.
Lets look at what some Liberals have said about the speech.
1. "Palin's speech lacked substance, and seemed to not address anything in particular..." Umm hello? Have you ever READ a transcript of an Obama speech? How much less substance can you have than what he recites.
2. "She didn't write the speech, so it should be thrown out, because uhh umm she didn't write it..." Hmmm. I'm pretty sure Barack doesn't write his speeches. Hmmm. I'm pretty sure he is a good looking, good speaking, good reciting puppet of the Democratic Party. A good quote from a Rush caller "Being that Barack couldn't order a Happy Meal without someone on his staff writing for him."
3. "She just dumb. She dumb girl." Well, good one. You almost made a sentence there. Congrats to the Obama campaign for having their backs against the wall, searching for something.
Thirty-Seven. 37 Million people watched Governor Palin make her speech at the RNC Wednesday evening. That's roughly only 1 million shy of Obama's speech the week before, and he is a Presidential Candidate (if some of you didn't know). While we are on the subject of comparing Obama and Palin, let's look into them a little bit.
From Talk Show Host, Glenn Beck:
SEN. BARACK OBAMA, (D) PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE: My understanding is, is that Governor Palin`s town of Wasilla has, I think, 50 employees. We`ve got 2,500 in this campaign. I think the budget is maybe $12 million a year. We have a budget of about three times that just for the month.
That comment by Obama is ridiculous, being that Palin is not the Mayor of Wasilla. She was. But Obama WAS a community organizer. So let's just compare these two's current jobs shall we? Obama has raised about $21 million per month for his campaign, while Palin deals with revenues 47 times more at over $1 billion...per month. Obama guestimates he has 2500 employees. Palin's Alaskan government employs around 77,000. Or about 31 times more than Barack's. So if Obama insists on running his "huge" campaign as a good enough reason to be president. Then Palin is about 37 times more qualified...Oh yeah, and she's on the VP ticket. And another thing, Obama doesn't even RUN his campaign...I believe that is his campaign manager's job.
Another excerpt from Glenn Beck, that I enjoyed thoroughly.
BECK:For example, you have got somebody that you know that says Sarah Palin isn`t experienced enough to be vice president but Barack Obama is. You say, really, that`s weird. Certainly Barack believed when he was going to be president, when he announced that he was ready to be president that he was ready to be president, right? Well, yeah. Okay.
Well, Barack Obama was in office for 767 days when he announced that he was a presidential candidate. Sarah Palin was in office 635 days when she announced herself as a vice presidential candidate. So what sort of incredible knowledge did Barack Obama absorb in that 132 days, hmm? Oh, yeah, and before you answer. If McCain/Palin do go on to win, she`ll go into office on Jan 20th, 2009 with 24 days more experience than Barack Obama when he announced.
Oh thank you to Glenn Beck for your statistics and excerpts. Now back to Palin's speech. One quote that stood out to me (excuse me, I'm paraphrasing) was "Obama and Biden have said how much they have fought for you, but there is only one man in this election who has ever FOUGHT for you." Great. Great line. Talking about McCain being a 22 year Armed forces Veteran and former Prisoner of War. A story. "A fellow POW, a man named Tom Moe of Lancaster, OH. Tom Moe recalls looking through a pinhole in his cell door, as Lieutenant Commander John McCain was led down the hallway by the guards, day after day. And the story is told, when McCain shuffled back from torturous interrogations, he would turn towards Moe's door. He'd flash a grin, and a thumbs up. As if to say- we're gonna pull through this."
Another "Being a small town mayor is sort of like being a community organizer, except that you have actual responsibilities." Talking about Barack's old job, which really-what does a community organizer even do? Oh yes, Obama helped people get back on their feet. That's right.
Sappy music. My brother helps people get jobs, and he isn't running for president.
Really, as great as this speech was. You have to watch the whole thing. I'm not the only one who'll admit that I was shocked by McCain's VP choice. But now I am starting to understand, that she is exactly what this election needed. More on Palin and the RNC...next.

That was awesome Chase. The only thing I would say differently is that Palin is exactly what this COUNTRY needs. The ratings were huge but you could say that McCain rode Palin's wave on TH to get over 40 million viewers.(By the way...FoxNews led the way over the Big 3 and little cnn)
