The White Stripes on Conan's Last Show

The White Stripes played Conan's final show as "Late Night" host last night. A great send off with Jack and Meg White playing "We're Going To Be Friends." Why did this mean so much to Conan? Not only was it because it was his last show, but The White Stripes and him are really friends. In 2003, The White Stripes played for a whole week of shows on Late Night. Conan made a cameo in their "Denial Twist" music video. Jack and Meg also played multiple songs in one show in 2007 for the release of Icky Thump. And Jack, with The Raconteurs last year, played two songs in one show for Consolers of the Lonely release. The first time I ever saw an encore on a Late Night Show. Oh yeah, did I mention this is The White Stripes' first live performance since the Summer of '07? Now it doesn't seem so odd. What a great ending to Conan's Late Night days.
