OUCH + Week 5 Pick'em

I am going to limp out of week 4 with a 2-4 record that brings the overall to 13-11 which makes me only count my blessings (look ma.. over .500).. I took it hard on all fronts and now I can only hope college basketball likes me better.. at least more than the NFL does.. With great defeat comes great experience.. My heart isn't the best at pick'em

TUESDAY: Here it is the first college hoops game pick of the year and this one is a good one to boot. No. 7 Texas taking on No. 8 Notre Dame in South Bend. Texas will have another great front court for the year but the domers home crowd and Harangody averaging 23 points and 12 boards a game prove to be too much in this one. Notre Dame 71 Texas 66

WEDNESDAY: On a day that has Purdue playing their first real team of the year (Boston College) you would think I'd be ready to pick the big upset. Well sadly no, the goddamn boilermakers will win that one easy and I don't even want that win on my record, so my game of the day goes to the NBA as the Golden State Warriors go into the Celtics garden and come away with a big win 103-99 (only pussies go with the favorite every time)

THURSDAY: Oklahoma State takes on No. 10 Gonzaga who is a team that many people once again think is overrated. And I happen to be one of them this year, Cowboys come away impressive in a game that earns them a spot amongst the nations top 25

FRIDAY: Oh High School Football you love me too much, and this is the week you HAVE to pick a winner Adam (no bitching either) It's the 5A State Championship with two teams from the USA today's National top 50 as Center Grove and Carmel face off in Lucas Oil for the right to be champions. Carmel came away with the regular season win between these two teams 33-32 back in september but Center Grove is playing the role of avengers today. Look for the Trojans to take down the Greyhounds in this one 42-37

SATURDAY: What a Saturday this will be, plenty of in-state rivalries and match-ups of top 25 teams will probably make for one hell of a day.. I will run through some obvious ones before I come to my game of the week. USC demolishes Notre Dame. Oregon State takes out the Ducks at the Beaver Dam. Oklahoma repeats the dominating performance but this time at the expense of Oklahoma State. Georgia Tech's second time back in the top 25 this year is short lived as the Bulldogs play big in the Superdome. Gators annihilate the Noles in what people might think will be close considering it's in Tallahassee, well, reconsider. Now we come to the game of the week that will actually count as Auburn goes to Tuscaloosa to take on the No. 1 ranked Crimson Tide and the Iron Bowl will actually be a close one. Auburn has owned this rivalry over the last 5 years and Saban is going to end that today, look for the Tide to roll to an epic win.. in overtime maybe.. 24-21

SUNDAY: Well it's Sunday and this has been my worst day of the week almost every week which means only one thing. Let's pick the most interesting game and find a shiny quarter that we trust. Hmm let's see.. Indy at Cleveland (yawn) Ravens at Cincy (boring) and uhh.. here we go Pittsburgh at New England for a game that might actually matter.. heads the home team wins tails the away team wins.. goddamnit.. Patriots win by some retarded score

MONDAY: I hate Monday almost as much as I hate Sunday.. at least this week is an easy one.. Jacksonville at Houston.. don't fuck this for me Jaguars.. JAX 37 HOU 20

Where's the beef?

Gotta admitt I should have looked a little more into the picks last week even though mine weren't too bad...GB was pathetic and I should have known OK would play better against Tex Tech but its all good...sorry your picks were even worse Matt...this week I have to keep it short and sweet..Unfortunately between stuffing my face, working on the worst retail shopping day of the year, and finals/stuffff due next week, I cant elaborate.

Here we go...

Tues was yesterday therefor I get a free ride...Matt either start on Tues or Wed, make up your mind

Wed. Celtics by 7

Thurs. Gonzaga, we'll see.

Fri. Carmel by 13

Sat. You're right about one thing...the Gators emberassing the Noles...you're wrong about the Bama/Auburn game even being close...well maybe it will be after the first quarter. You think Alabama is gonna throw away the perfect season to Auburn? come on...they win by at least 14 points.

Sun. Good pick (for once) haha. I think it will be a good game, esp if New England can find ways to keep pressure on big Ben and Matt Cassel can continue to DOMINATE every aspect of the offense. As much as I hate them, Pats take this one by a TD in the 4th.

Mon. I'm going to go out on a limb and say its the upset of the week. Again we have a battle of the shit teams, kinda like Purdue vs IU last week..ohh that stung a little didn't it matt...sorry, but unlike IU, i think Texas will put up a fight against the Jags. Walter has a record breaking week and the Texans celebrate their early xmas present aka give away win from the Jags 23-21.
