To all you rap fans....
The host of On The Record (a "biased" show on a "biased" media network Fox News), Greta interviewed another Obama supporter who happens to be a very popular R&B Artist, Wyclef Jean minutes after the Democratic National Convention and here's a run down . These are direct quotes from the transcript mind you.....
Gretta asked why are you here(at the convention)?
Jean: Well, I mean, it's a natural thing that I'm here. I've been into politics. I was telling off air. My brothers are Republicans. I'm a natural Democrat, and we've been debating in the house for a minute. I think it's a historical time in history. Even though I do not follow politics that much, it was very important. I do not want to miss like history in the making. So, it was very important I'm out of here. Rock the Vote, of course, which what I've been supporting since the days of the Fugees. Finally, kids are engaged and excited about voting this time around, and they really feel like it's cool, which is something we have been fighting for years.
My response. What does "voting being cool" have ANYTHING to do with choosing the right leader? Do I think it's awesome that kids/young adults are actually pumped up about voicing their opinions and feeling like their opinion matters? absolutely..because obviously I feel the same way. But as we've discussed before this is not "Washington Idol"...if so, Obama made a disastrous mistake by not putting Clay Aiken or Kelly Clarkson on his ticket.
Next Question...
Greta: So, what's the story of you and your brothers? I mean, how come.
Jean: Well, I mean, this is -- it's a big debate. I mean, I was saying, that Denzel Washington movie, "The Great Debaters," are really about my brothers, really, they didn't know that (ph). But my brothers are both, you know, Republicans, they were great debaters in high school and went on to college. I decided I would be a musician. But we have had a lot of big talk about Obama and McCain, and they are actually going to vote for Obama.
My response...once again, Democrats showing that there's absolutely no substance behind their reasoning. I'm sure the fact that Obama is "not like the other presidents on the dollar bills" has nothing to do with his "brotha's" voting Obama if you catch my drift.
Next Question...(this was incredible)
Greta: Some people would say that he is inspiring, that he might feel good, but that he doesn't have a record of showing anything, and that, you know, the whole issue of experience -- does that play into your thinking at all?
Jean: Of course. It definitely plays into my thinking, and I think, I was watching Bill Clinton and what Bill Clinton said out of the whole quote that I got is -- and, you know, I love Bill Clinton -- is that Obama is smart as a whip, and the thing about it is I don't think anybody right now with what has happened in the last eight years -- I think if we want to talk about experience in the situation of President George Bush, and we say, OK, experience -- putting Obama in a position and putting him and the White House, I feel he would to a much better job than George Bush has done in the past eight years. I feel that he is experienced enough to -- not that he's going to face mistakes, yes, he will face mistakes and we all face mistakes, but I feel that a job a president, you must be ready day one to go against anything and be ready for everything and not really -- I'm confident that he could pull that off.
My response.... Is this African American high?? First of all, what does smart as a whip have ANYTHING to do with being ready? Does that mean at the saddleback forum pausing and stuttering before you answer each question? Does that mean smart as in knowing how to please a crowd by pleasing the words that touch their ears? The guy is no smarter than a 2x4 with some shiny lime green paint that’s catchy to the naked eye. Second, has everyone forgotten what GW has had to put up with in the past 8 years?? You can debate his decisions on war even though if I do recall in September, 2001 there was an EXTREMELY low percentage of Americans against going over seas to take care of the job that the terrorists started...but hey, that’s the past, we shouldn't worry about that anymore right? And last of all...this brilliant escape artist, Barack Obama has ALREADY made poor decisions when put on the spot and he's not even close to presidency yet. He may think he is by flying to Europe and speaking from podiums that former presidents spoke at or by bashing our current political system but you're telling me if a life or death decision was to be made today for our ENTIRE country...that someone with ZERO experience would be better ready than someone with years and years of experience? Reality check bro...you're wrong. Day one that Barack Obama is put in the hot seat to "be ready for anything and everything" is day one our country begins its successful downfall to the end.
Next Question...
Greta: In terms of experience, do you think he has more experience now than George W. Bush had when George W. Bush took or was a few months before the election eight years ago?
Jean: I think it was two different things. I think when George Bush took office, I think, something happen with the towers. I think we had the terrorist attacks, the 9/11, and I think once that happened, I think, the whole energy of the (AUDIO BREAK)
George Bush had to govern a certain way. Whether if we agree with it or not, in the situation of 9/11, I was against the war in Iraq. You know, there was no weapons found at the end of the day, but I feel that, at the end of the day, there are some things that he did do. One of the things you cannot disregard is the situation with Africa and malaria and different situations, but as far as the image of the country, coming from someone who travels all over the world constantly, it used to be a time when we had an image, and we were proud to go around the country, and every country you go to, they'd be like, "Where are you from?" You go, "America," you know, and everyone was like, "Yes, yes." You know, now, you know, you go around the world all over and it's like, "Where you're from?" You go, "America," and they go, "(INAUDIBLE), we don't know about that." I feel that the head plays a very important role, which is the image. I feel that the image of your country is very important, and I think we're all starting to understand now. It's very important that the person who's our president that's representing us is representing us, and that it's important that we are like around the world. I think it's very important that people feel like, you know, they could talk to us. It's important that people feel like, you know, we're not here to bully the rest of the world. I think that is very important, and I think that's where Barack Obama comes in.
My response.... You want to talk about image for a minute Mr. Jean? Lets roll.... Democrats, especially Barack Obama, are so wrapped up in our "image" and his "image" that he forgets the only thing he's revealed to the world about the USA's image is that we're broken and falling apart. Should we bully other countries? Absolutely not...should we help WHEN WE CAN, absolutely...should we depend on them? Absolutely not...but it's like an intimate relationship. You cannot love someone else and give someone the love and support they need until you are content with yourself. How do democrats expect us to be buddies with foreign countries and make them feel like they can talk to us when all democrats want to do is talk about how messed up our OWN country is...OUR OWN COUNTRY. Obama has the wonderful visions of going over seas and providing financial aid and to help rebuild economies whiles his plan for OUR economy and OUR finances is a plan for DISASTER. You don’t tax corporations who employ millions of people, run small business, and put gas in our tanks when times are bad. You don’t tax big corps who call the big shots. Remember, people with the dough, run the show Obama. He should know that, after all he was the 2nd highest recipient of Fannie and Freddie last year....ohhh, I wasn't supposed to say that was I.... Maybe if the liberals stopped worrying so much about their image, we could focus on some true issues and true needs for once. Something that matters. Cool doesn't get you anywhere Mr. Jean but the top of the record charts which at the end of the day gets you where? A nice house and some good drugs. Congratulations. I hope he's done his research...last time I checked Obama expects Americans with an annual income of over 250,000 to "give back" so when/if that day comes, I'd love to see this superstars reaction. As I said before, if an image is the ONLY thing we want out of the next Pres of the US...Barack is your man.
Last Question...
Greta: I think, I'm going to ask (ph) you about Senator McCain -- is there anything that you admire about Senator McCain?
Jean: Oh, I think anyone who puts themselves in a situation where they serve for their country; I think that's the greatest duty. No one can take that away, and then getting captured on top of that and then -- you can even like there's total respect when it comes to that point, you know, when it comes to John McCain and him serving for his country and what he has done for his country. That is, you know, we respect that. No one is taking that. I just feel in a sense of leadership, I feel that Barack Obama would be a much better leader to lead the country.
My response.... Let me get this straight...you want to commend him on fighting for our country and almost dying as a POW, but when it comes to soldiers fighting for our country NOW, it's wrong?? So it was okay to put your life on the line then, but now it's completely unacceptable....you're right Wyclef...why have a leader who's fought gun battles, had bones broken, and stayed in prison so others could go home when you can have a leader, that the only gun ever placed in his hand was a squirt gun on the white sandy beaches of Hawaii. Terrific intelligence.
What bothers me the most about this interview isn't the ignorance that is spewed out of the mouth of Wyclef Jean or the fact that he is incapable of putting together a FULL sentance on national television...it's the fact that the same American society that wants to bitch and moan about the economy and not have the decency to inform themselves PROPERLY on both sides of the race, are the same American people that look up to this man. As sad as it is, and as much as it scares me to say it...if this is how the majority of American's feel..the same way that Wyclef Jean does than our country deserves what's coming to it.

Oh, bravo sir. Bravo. Write down this date in history. The date that AK and CW merged. Wyclef Jean, P Diddy, Matt Damon...and MANY more...Hollywood needs to shut up. We don't pay them to think. We pay them to sing songs and act in movies. So shut up, and do your job Hollywood.
Absolutely love this. I'm so very impressed with you and Chase and your ways of spreading your knowledge//ideas//beliefs in such an eye-opening way. If only people would pay a little more attention and actually attempt to learn about politics as well as the candidates then this country would be so much better off. Keep up the incredible posts, men =)
